Closet Staples for Moms on the Go

I feel like I’m constantly saying, “Things will slow down next week,” and then they continue to be as hectic as ever. Let’s face it—as moms we are ALWAYS busy, no matter the time of year. And while I always try to plan ahead, I still find myself running around trying to get things done at the last minute.

Year-round, I am all about casual, comfortable outfits, and this time of year is no exception, especially given the unpredictable weather. Over the years, I find myself reaching for the same staple items to put together a look that is comfortable but still feels put together. I’ve rounded up all my must-have closet staple pieces to put together the perfect look for the mom on the go.

Shackets

Shackets are so easy, and you can throw them on over just about anything. I love having a few neutral options in my closet so I can grab them and go. Nordstrom Rack has some really affordable options that are also great quality.

Graphic Tees

It’s no secret that I love a good graphic tee, and Daydreamer never disappoints. I love the oversized fit and vintage feel. They’re super comfortable and on trend. What’s not to love?

Athleisure Sets

I’m all for anything that takes the work out of an outfit for me, and that’s one of my favorite things about a great athleisure set. Spanx has some great options that are not only comfortable, but also really flattering, and I always love anything from Varley too.

Leggings & Bike Shorts

Who doesn’t love leggings and bike shorts? You can find me living in them year-round, so I like to have a variety on hand to mix things up. I love Lululemon for active leggings, and Spanx has a huge assortment in all different materials so you can dress them up or dress them down.

Belt Bags

I love belt bags. It’s so much easier than lugging around a huge purse (although, let’s face it, sometimes those are necessary). I love throwing on a belt bag with the essentials and just going. MZ Wallace is one of my go-tos. They always have tons of great options.

Sneakers

From Golden Goose to New Balance, I’m a firm believer that sneakers are a mom’s best friend. They go with just about everything and keep you comfortable as you’re racing around running errands. After all, as moms, we are always on the move.
