Date Night Outfits for Valentine’s Day

I will never forget my first Valentine’s Day with Kris. He made a reservation at a swanky Italian restaurant. We waited three hours for our food, and needless to say were pretty hangry by the time it actually came. We didn’t finish dinner until midnight. I remember thinking, “I cannot believe I am eating dinner at 11:30 at night!” To say the least, that was the first time he took me out to dinner for Valentine’s and the absolute last. We prefer to plan our date nights around less busy weekends now. With that said, I still love Valentine’s Day. Who doesn’t love red and pink? And of course candy hearts don’t hurt!
Whether you’re heading to dinner for a Galentine’s celebration with your best friends, going to your kiddo’s Valentine’s Day party, or just staying in to watch a romantic comedy, there are so many reasons to dress festive on Valentine’s Day. After our first Valentine’s Day date, we tend to fall into the latter category, but I am still all about dressing the part.
Here is some inspiration for cute outfits that will get you through no matter how you are celebrating the day!
Pajamas
This is what my family will be wearing to celebrate the occasion! You can find us enjoying takeout and cozied up on the couch this Valentine’s Day. After the kiddos go down, Kris and I will pop some popcorn, add a few candy hearts to it, and enjoy a movie date at home.
Activewear
Activewear is a staple for me, and Valentine’s Day is no different! Thank goodness for fun and comfy activewear. I don’t know what us mommas would do without it. From running all the errands before your kiddo’s Valentine’s Day party to setting it up, we can be cute and comfy. Of course, I still love to keep it festive in red and pink.
Flirty Tops
I love a feminine and flirty top paired with a high-waisted jean. This look will take you to brunch with the girls or out to dinner with your hubby. Honestly, it is one of my go-to looks when I don’t know if an event is casual or dressy. It’s the perfect in-between look that you can dress up or down with the right shoes and accessories.
Dresses
And of course, we can’t forget dresses. I LOVE a good reason to get all dressed up, and Valentine’s Day is the ideal excuse to take advantage to do just that. If your hubby or significant other is taking you out, I’ve got you covered with some of the most perfect dresses for your date night.
Spring is right around the corner. Why not kick off floral dress season with Valentine’s Day? I love the femininity of a floral dress. It screams Spring and makes me feel so dressed up and girly.
Floral Dresses
And of course, you can’t go wrong with a solid red or pink dress. I love Valentine’s Day because it feels like the kickstart to Spring, and a nice, bright dress is the perfect way to make a statement.
Red & Pink Dresses
Cozy Sweaters
We don’t get a lot of sweater weather here in Florida, but if you’re lucky enough to live in an area with cooler temps, a cozy sweater is a great way to dress up while keeping it cozy for Valentine’s Day!
I am loving these red and pink sweaters! Even though it has been unseasonably cool here in Florida, it will probably be in the 80’s on Valentine’s Day. So as much as I love and want to buy each and every one of these, I will have to opt for a cooler outfit.
Accessories & Shoes
Don’t forget to finish the look with accessories and shoes! If you’re like me and tend to stick with neutral tones, you can easily add pops of red and pink through your shoes and accessories.
I hope you found these tips helpful! What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Do you usually go out or celebrate at home?
