It’s always shorts season in Florida, and you won’t find me complaining about it. I love the sunshine and all the family fun that comes with it. And while you know I love me some flowy dresses, shorts are another staple in my wardrobe, especially this time of year. I definitely have my tried and true favorites I find myself reaching for every time.
With so many options – denim shorts, linen shorts, bike shorts – it can be tough sometimes to know how to style them. I have pulled together some of my absolute favorite shorts (plus some I want to try) and am sharing my tips and tricks for styling them.
Denim Shorts

These denim shorts have been a favorite for years. Worth. Every. Penny. They come in multiple lengths and washes too, so you can shop around and find the style you like best. I love pairing denim shorts with an effortless, breezy top. Makes for a more put-together casual look.

I’m a big fan of a lightweight, cozy beach sweater. It’s such an easy thing to throw on with a pair of denim shorts for a beachy, breezy look. And of course you can’t go wrong with a light-wash denim with some subtle distressing.
Pull-on & Linen Shorts

These shorts from H&M are so comfortable and the perfect fit. They’re running low on stock in some sizes, but I’ve linked some similar options that are also at a really great price. I love to keep linen shorts looking effortless by pairing them with an equally easy, breezy top. The half-tuck on this button-down helps to create shape.
Active & Bike Shorts
Of course, you can’t go wrong with a great pair of gym shorts or (my favorite) bike shorts. For gym shorts, I tend to stick with neutral colors so they can go with everything, and I love a subtle print. These shorts from Varley have become a staple for me.
And of course, the ever-popular bike short! These are so versatile and a much cooler alternative to leggings when it’s summer and a million degrees outside. I love pairing my bike shorts with an active tank or graphic tee for a more casual look.

A white button-down also pairs great with a cute pair of bike shorts! This look is so easy but still makes me feel put-together. Not to mention, it’s extremely comfortable.
