We are up by 5:15, working out by 6:00, and done by 6:45. Then the craziness of morning routine ensues. Making breakfast, making lunches for everyone, and keeping Audrey on schedule so Brydon isn’t late for patrol, can be a whirlwind some days. Everyone needs to be out the door no later than 7:25 for Brydon to make it on time. Our morning routine can be a bit hectic at times. Which is why it is so important for us to have a breakfast that is quick and simple to make but pack full of nutrients.
Quick and Healthy Breakfast
One of the easiest and simplest breakfast Kris and I prepare is a bowl full of vanilla Greek yogurt. We top with our favorite fresh fruits, typically blueberries and strawberries, along with Cascadian Farm’s Dark Chocolate Almond Granola. It is one of the quickest breakfasts we prepare. It is full of protein and nutrients we need after working out. And keeps us full til our next meal. So easy without sacrificing taste. It is so yummy!
This is great as an afternoon snack as well. When we hit that afternoon lull, it is also a great option for our family snack. I am not always sure the kiddos eat their lunch at school, so we always have yogurt and granola on hand for them to eat when they get home. That way I know for sure they are eating a nutritious snack so they won’t crash will at their afternoon activities.
