Beach & Pool Day Must-Haves

I love everything about Spring and Summer, and a family trip to the beach is almost always on our weekend agenda this time of year. We are lucky to live where we do because we can make a full day of it, or just pop over for a quick swim when time is tight. Any little bit of sunshine brightens my day. I just can’t get enough of it. I guess it’s a good thing I live in the sunshine state!

It’s amazing how many things you need when heading out for a day at the beach or pool. As busy moms, a beach trip can get pretty hectic when trying to make sure we have everything, but it’s important that we have fun and enjoy the day too. Take the stress out of a day in the sun by making a packing list, and you’ll thank yourself later. Here are some essentials to ensure a good time.

Swimsuits

As soon as Spring hits, you can find me living in shorts and swimsuits, and I’m always amazed how many great options there are out there. I love to have a variety of swimsuits, so I’m covered no matter what we’re doing. Whether it’s a pool day, beach day or we’re heading out on the boat.

Cover-Ups

A cover-up is always nice to have…maybe even two in case one gets wet or sandy! I love having something I can easily throw on over my suit so I’m ready no matter where the day takes us.

Sunscreen

Of course, you can’t forget the sunscreen. It’s amazing how many options there are, both for body and face, when it comes to sunscreen. I feel like growing up, we were stuck with the oily kind with the overpowering scent, but not we have tons of great options! Here are some of my favorites from Supergoop, Tula, CeraVe and Beach Bum.

Hats

Sooo many cute hat options right now. From large straw hats to visors and trucker hats, there’s no shortage of cute options for any outfit or swimsuit.

Sunglasses

Sunscreen always comes to mind when we talk sun protection, but your eyes need protection too! A cute pair of sunglasses is one of the first things to go in my beach bag because it’s the last thing I want to forget for a fun day at the beach or on the water.

Sandals

Towels

A large beach towel is a must. In fact, MULTIPLE large beach towels are a must! Again, I love to have plenty on hand to use when drying off, as well as some to lay out in the sand on. I love all the cute options Target has right now.

Beach Bags

Of course, you can’t forget a bag to put all the essentials in! So many cute options out there. I love these:
