Happy Anniversary to Momma Mandy Blog
So, when I was contemplating even starting a blog, I was actually my own BIGGEST road block. Deep down, I was afraid. Afraid of what people would say. Afraid of people judging me. Also, afraid of ya’ll not liking what I wrote or posted. I was even afraid that people would only see a perfect little life in perfect little squares, but not get a true sense of who I am, or how my life isn’t *actually* a “perfect little family” 24/7. And, I was afraid of just plain failing. What if I didn’t have it in me?! What if people didn’t care?! But my biggest fear was disappointing my two biggest cheerleaders, Kris and Brydon.
I told Kris at the beginning of my blogging career, that I would consider Momma Mandy a success if I could impact just one person in a positive way. Lo and behold, within a month of launching MommaMandy.com, still learning how to navigate this blogger world, a friend let me know that she recently read my blogpost titled “BETTER AN OOPS THAN A WHAT IF” and was so inspired by my words, that she immediately called her friends in Tallahassee to tell them that it was finally time to fulfill her dream of moving there, because she would rather have an oops than a what if! I don’t think she realized how much it meant to me that my words impacted her in that way…and she definitely thought I was crazy when I started tearing up while she told me!
Guys, I’m getting emotional just writing this post!
Some people may assume that “blogging” is a somewhat silly, superficial venture, but for me “Momma Mandy” has become about so much more than just outfit posts and beauty tips and Instagram. It’s more than that. It is about being afraid, but doing it anyway. It’s about ignoring all the reasons it “won’t work” and just GOING FOR IT! And most importantly, it’s about YOU! This amazing community of women that have supported me on this journey — I couldn’t do this without ya’ll, my #MommaMandySquad! I don’t know how to begin to repay everyone who has believed in me, encouraged me, read my posts, and even liked my ‘grams 😉 Please know that I am thankful for each and every one of you, and I am here for you, just as you have been here for me!
Even though this blogging business can be hard work, and I’ve had many headaches and a few sleepless nights trying to figure out this world of websites and Insta-Algorithms and affiliates and managing the endless stream of emails…at the end of the day, creating content for ya’ll is an absolute BLAST and I am so excited to see what this next year on my blogging journey will bring!
