When I was little my mom was always in the kitchen baking during the holidays. My dad owns a chain of dry cleaners and my mom every year would bake all of our favorite treats, package them with a big red bow, and deliver them to all 12 stores for all of his employees to enjoy. My sister and I would get to ride with my mom to every stop and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. It was alway so much fun seeing how excited everyone would be when she dropped off all the yummy goodies.
Although I have not continued the tradition of passing out baked treats to all of my dad’s stores, the kiddos are always up for baking cookies with me. I eat the dough (I know the risk I take and it’s totally worth it) and they decorate! Tis the season of baking in our household. Between Christmas parties and cookie exchanges the kiddos are always will to lend a helping hand in the kitchen. During the holidays we will have an extra gallon on hand with all of our baking and sweet treats. Milk has always been a staple in our house. I remember when Brydon was little I was worried because he would drink so many glasses of milk. I even asked the doctor if I should be concerned about how much milk he was drinking. The doctor assured me there was going to be A-Okay! But who doesn’t love a tall glass of ice cold milk with their Christmas cookies and cakes? I am so excited to partner with DairyPure to help Share the Goodness. We have been blessed and love giving back this time of year.
Share the Goodness with DairyPure
DairyPure announced plans to “Share the Goodness” by partnering with consumers to donate 500,000 meals to Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. For more information, click here. During this time of year, milk is standard to have at home with friends and family visiting, whether you are enjoying a glass of milk alongside fresh cookies or cooking up a savory recipe. So why not give back at the same time?
What are some ways you and your family give back during this time of year? I am always looking for fun and easy baking recipes for the kiddos and I! I have some of my favorites pinned on PINTEREST! You should check them out.
